= MYOFASCIAL Kinesiology TAPING
Effective & efficient – No 1 in Sport
MYOFASCIAL KINESIOLOGY TAPING is a further development of Kinesiology Taping.
It is more effective and efficient as the regular Kinesiology Taping. What you cannot achieve by Kinesiology Taping you CAN often achieve by MYOFASCIAL kinesiology TAPING.
Acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems that seemed to take long time to resolve or reduce are mostly fixed in one therapy session which usually takes only minutes. Depending on the problem it takes a few more applications in a period of 2 to 5 weeks to keep the problem fixed for a long time or for good. The major effect and most important one is the normalization of the muscle and fascia tension, reducing tension in overly taught muscles and fascia or to increase tension when needed to provide active stability and strength. Altogether patients and athletes get a balanced myofascial system, for well coordinated and pain free movements.
Instant results - long lasting benefits
It uses a genuinely designed and flexible tape FLEXOTAPE and is an extremely efficient and effective method for therapy, injury prevention and enhanced sporting performance like in treatment of muscular disorders, pain relief, lymph edema reduction, and has also been demonstrated to assist in offloading muscles and fascias, increased muscle recruitment and proprioception while maintaining Full Range of Motion (Full-ROM).
Myofascial system – the difference to conventional kinesiology taping
In 1999 we began with our first training – kinesio taping according to Dr Kenzo Kase.
Since then the taping technique has been further developed during the course of research and development.
Our work was focused on fascia and the myofascial system and has been clearly improved and altered through the integration of osteopathic fascial techniques and of the Anatomy Trains concept. In addition, for the past three years, unique knowledge gained through the doctoral thesis and dissertation from our specialist directors here at the Academy has been integrated into our courses. We now speak of MYOFASCIAL kinesiology taping or MYOFASCIAL TAPING which is clearly different and far more effective and efficient than the original kinesiology taping and this is unique to the Physio Training Academy.
The MYOFASCIAL Kinesiology TAPING is the most innovative course in taping.
Since we have been working with Anatomy Trains we are at the forefront of fascia research and treatment. It is crucial what you do with the fascia/ myofascia. All the effects follow on what you do with it.
No 1 in sports
One of the most important advantages for sports is that athletes get back significantly earlier to training or competition. There is also significantly less risk of injury.
It is due to the fact that the effects of the techniques are maintained, during any movement or any sport.
The MYOFASCIAL Kinesiology TAPING is based on myofascial balance that focuses on myofascial release, improved muscle function, structural change of fascia and killing pain in one therapy session (takes just a few minutes). No Pain, more Gain .
The Physio Training Academy is involved in many research projects and studies. The evidence gained goes back into the courses and development in techniques and therapy approach.

The Seminar success of Myofascial Kinesiology Taping
The taping method for professionals
Our certified practitioners include physiotherapists at the health sector and English Premier and Championship football clubs, Rugby Union clubs, over 30 UK national teams and many other therapists from NHS to elite sports and national teams worldwide.
We are also proud that the Myofascial Kinesiology Taping method was used at the Football World Cup 2010 and the Commonwealth Games 2010 (official supplier).
The therapy success of Myofascial Kinesiology Taping
Many applications are evidence based:
They relieve pain 100% in more than 90% of all cases like supraspinatus impingement, SIJ blockage, back pain, tennis and golfer’s elbow, headache, muscle strain, acute and chronic tendonopathies.
The taping techniques often cure even migraine and tinnitus.
FLEXOTAPING® is the most innovative and successful course in taping (kinesiology taping).
The techniques, applications and method are different and further developed to the regular kinesiology taping. Even when therapists have been on a series of kinesiology taping courses it is more than worthwhile to come to our foundation course in myofascial taping and be more successful and efficient.
The Football World Cup 2010 & Commonwealth Games 2010
The MYOFASCIAL Kinesiology TAPING Method was at the Football World Cup 2010 and it was practiced by many therapist from the English, Scotish and Welsh therapists at the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi.
'The tape was fantastic and adhered through the heat and sweat!'

FLEXOTAPE - THE KINESIOLOGY TAPE is fundamentally different to conventional athletic tape. It is 30% elastic.
Rigid sport tape works mechanically for functional immobilization to limit movement.
MYOFASCIAL KINESIOLOGY TAPING is based on a different philosophy that aims to achieve full range of motion and early functional movement in order to optimize endogenous physiological healing processes.
Conventional athletic tape aims to limit functional movement to prevent anew or further injury via mechanical properties.
Athletic tape applications often lead to swelling and restrict circulation and healing processes.
Classical sport tape
• Mechanical effects
• Functional immobilization
• Protects the musculature
• Supports the musculature
• Passive stability
• Stability can lead to a circulatory buildup
KINESIOLOGY TAPE - FLEXOTAPE
• Sensory effects
- Stimuli of mechanoreceptors
- Nociceptors
- Proprioceptors
• Activates self-healing processes through
- the musculature
- improved lymph flow
- improved blood circulation
• “Full range of motion”
• Improved blood and lymph flow
• Fascia correction techniques
Effects of MYOFASCIAL KINESIOLOGY TAPING method according to the Physio Training Academy (Markus Erhard and his team):
• Significant relief or elimination of pain
• Improvement of microcirculation of blood and lymph
• Elimination of edemas
• Improvement of muscle function
• Regulation of muscle tone - Balance of muscle tension
• Correction of fascias - Balance of fascia tension
• Correction of course of fascias - Balance of fascia tension
• Correction of joints
• Improvement of proprioception and joint function
• Fascilitation and improvement of motions
• Increases range of motion
• Treatment of trigger points
• Treatment of scar tissue
• Improvement of sport specific motion patterns
Every injury and general tissue damage goes along with inflammatory reactions.
These lead to an increase in pressure in the affected area due to release of fluids, restricting circulation of blood and lymph flow which slow down healing processes.
MYOFASCIAL KINESIOLOGY TAPING alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by lifting and shifting the skin. The taped areas form convolutions in the skin, increasing interstitial space and thus pressure and irritation are taken off the neural and sensory receptors, alleviating pain. Pressure is gradually taken off the lymphatic system, allowing it to flow more freely, optimizing the healing process.
Individuals can then continue their normal physical activities and sports with functional assistance.
The method provides optimal rehabilitation and wound healing by improved microcirculation of blood and lymph.
In acute stage of rehabilitation the tape facilitates movement.
Enhanced performance in sports is achieved via increased muscle recruitment and better proprioception as well as correction of fascia and facilitation of functional sport specific movement patterns.
The tape can be used along other therapies like manual therapy, cryotherapy, electrical stimulation, sonication, massage therapy, hydrotherapy and other therapies.
MYOFASCIAL KINESIOLOGY TAPING stimulates sensory receptors of the skin and affects the activation of the neurological system, the body's information processor as well as the circulatory system of lymph and blood. Failure of the muscles to function properly induces various kinds of symptoms. More attention is given to the importance of muscle function and the idea of treating the muscles in order to activate the body's endogenous healing processes by flexible taping. The elastic tape helps muscles and other tissues and creates a totally new and innovative treatment of muscles, nerves and organs and produces an enormous spread of indications.
